I like the look of Tuncay this season. Now he has settled into the Premiership he is looking a fantastic player, but He will have to chip in with about 12 goals this season as well as lots of assists, to be up there with Juninho. He does fit into the team formation better than the little fella though. I'll let you know at The end of the season, if we can hang onto him for that long.

I was amazed reading all the e-mails that were sent into MFC's official site when he joined us - the Turks loved him . I think he could be huge ........ Braveheart ........ what a work rate he has. |

If he can play like that for the rest of the season then he will definitely be a bigger hero than Juninho, that's if we don't sell him for 20 million before next weeks transfer window closes.

Tuncay needs to score a few more goals and assists to be at the level of TLF in his first spell at Boro. But I can't think of a more skillful and exciting player wearing a Boro shirt since? But his best asset is his sheer energy and willingness to work his bollocks off

OK, I'm going to be a little controversial here but do we all look at TLF through rose tinted spectacles?? I'm not saying he wasn't a great player but nobody could fit him into a team - we couldn't, Athletico couldn't and neither could Brazil - when he won the world cup he played in a couple of the early games then was dropped and only came on for a sub in the last few minutes of the final. Now he had great individual perfomances - Sheff Wed at home, Chesterfield 2nd game, Derby away, Leicester away (in the league - 3 or 4 up before HT) but that season we got to 2 cup finals, lost them both and got relegated - I just remember too many away games where he was completely anonymous. And the reason was he couldn't play as an orthodox midfield player or as an orthodox striker so only could play behind the strikers which meant either playing 4-5-1 or 4-3-3 neither of which work unless you have the talent on the pitch such as Chelsea or Man Utd. Every fan of other clubs that I know and respect always described him as ok but never a world beater and I think that is what he was. In these best Boro player polls my dad always put Souness first and I wouldn't disagree... of course my granddad while he was alive would say they couldn't touch Camsell or Mannion so I guess it is all individual's perspective. Tuncay for me has a great chance of being viewed as better than Juninho but only because he can play as a 2 up front but also in midfield if needed - time will tell........ |
