What a horrible feeling when Gerrard scored the winner    (yet another late sucker punch to add to our collection) But when you look at The overall match, we played really well and took the game to Liverpool. The way the Liverpool players reacted at the final whistle, showed just how good we had played. they only usually react like that in Cup finals or against Man utd. If we can carry on with performances like this every week, we are in for an exciting season.

I agree with you Bear, I think it's going to be a very exciting season, if the last 2 games are anything to go by. We played great at Liverpool and were the better side but we need to finish teams off, especially as you say, our habbit of conceding late goals.  At least the fans can't say it's boring football. I think Gareth has a few big decisions to make in defence and up front, we can't keep playing Wheater at right back, but I think we do need him in the Middle alongside Huth and playing every week because he will chip in with a few goals. Hoyte should be starting next week, so that leaves Pog and Taylor fighting for the left back position. I would also start with Mido up front with Tuncay. Alves has looked very average in the 2 opening games, and Mido has scored 2 in 2. What a good game Turnbull had as well, so I think he should keep the number 1 spot. Come on Gareth, you have a few hard choices to make this week, have you got the balls to make the right ones.  

Absolute sickner on Saturday - stood with James and a lad from Adelaide who was up for the Roar match but whose dad is from Darlo!! We were literally surrounded by about 50 Liverpool fans (1 scouse accent!!). We gave them a decent match in the singing stakes but on 93 minutes the place went ballistic - all I could do was a Juninho type head in hands!!

Proud of the boys though and almost every Liverpool fan came up to us and said we deserved a win never mind a draw!

FFS- I agree Southgate has a few big decisions to make this week, and I agree with you about The defence and Turnbull, also In my opinion Mido has earned a starting place for the Stoke game.. I think we are in for a very exciting season. But we do need to concentrate for the full 95 minutes as it is very worrying, all the late goals we have leaked over the last year or so.

Clipper- The 1 Scouse accent is spot on in the Pig Last season we were singing There's only 1 real Scouse, and an Aussie Lad I'd met 3 years earlier, came up and said in the worst Scouse accent "I'm a Scouse" I pished myself laughing  He was very red faced when I told him I'd met him 3 years earlier.

As for the Pig, I lived in Liverpool for 3 years so can do a fairly good accent and can recognise a poor attempt at one - the worst on Saturday was a Cockney trying to do one - cross between Chaz'n'Dave and Lily Savage!!
