What a great start to the season, even The Spurs fans in The Pig & Whistle said we hammered them. The team was full of pace skill and energy. Watching Tuncay  was like watching Juninho. With all the pace we have in the team I think we can shock a few teams away from home as well, hitting them on the break. We have so many options and outlets now when we win the ball, with Tuncay Downing and Aliadiere. Alves looked a bit rusty but was still getting into the right positions. The defence looked strong, and will leave Mr Gareth with a selection problem next week, who will make way for Hoyte, or will we go with a back 5 at Liverpool? And lets not forget Brad Jones who grew in confidence as the game went on,making a couple of important saves in the 2nd Half. How many Boro and Spurs Fans turned up in Melbourne? We only had about 15 Boro, and were well outnumbered by the Yids, about 50 of them. What a great feeling walking out of the Pig with a smile on my face for a change

Hi Trev,
Only 4 of us turned up unfortunately. Mick and Phil are in the Boro and were at the match I think. Lucky buggers.
It's a bit of a problem that Melbournes transport is crap, unless you live near the city the last train home is at 1am and the first train home is at 7:30 on a Sunday morning. People either have to drive and not have a drink or fork out tons for a taxi. When the weathers crap like it is here, most just say f@#k it and watch it at home.
Saying that we had a good night. The Dickens was packed with spurs supporters and it was difficult to get to the bar/toilet. BUT THAT SOON CHANGED, HA HA.
The Arsenal blokes were cheering us on and winding up the yids which was great.
I thought "oh shit", when I saw Jones in goal, but was made to eat my words. Great display (but I still prefer Turnbull) and I'm still convinced that we're going to have a great season. We've so many attacking options and playing Wheater at right back was a masterstroke. Now that Hoyt's signed the sky's the limit.
UP THE BORO

P.S. Was a bit dissapointed that the spurs fans in the Dickens were anti-social.

Thanks for organising a great night Trev at the pig - as you said, walking out the pig with smiles on our faces was a very pleasent change!

Even the spurs fans were decent and enjoyed a laugh - unlike the yids in Melbourne it appears!

Really should stop getting so optimestic but i can't help it - we were brillient....now watch us get done by Stoke in 2 weeks at home, haha.

I'll be at the pig this Sat for Boro - Liverpool Midnight KO if anyone is keen.

Up the Boro!

Even though there were only 4 of us at the Dickens in Melbourne, I had a really good night. Cheers Paul for organising it! Nice to see the Arsenal boys cheering us on too - even if it did get a little bit heated at one point. Always amusing.
Paul i'm sure I can convince the missus to let you stop over the odd night here and there if you want to come into the city. Only a $15 taxi ride back to mine and there's a train station 5 mins walk away for the next day. Not around for the Liverpool game this saturday though....family do on in Adelaide.

Sounds like a good idea. Sweettalk the missus for me!
I'm not here this weekend either, off to Ballarat to see the old dear.
P.S. Went to go into The Celtic Club at 2:30am for a coke and to make sure I was sober enough to drive. The bouncer wouldn't let me in!! Is the 2am lockout still in force?
